The sea lily is found on the Atlantic coast from Brittany to Portugal, and along the Mediterranean coast, including Corsica and Crete. Due to its incredible resistance, its seeds can survive long periods in the sea while retaining their capacity to germinate. Its name “pancratium” comes from the Greek “pan” meaning “everything” and “kratos” meaning powerful, and refers to the exceptional resistance its delicate flowers have to the harsh, arid environment of sand, sun, salt and wind where it grows. The sea lily selected by The Clarins Laboratories comes from controlled cultivation.
