Centella asiatica grows in the tropical, swampy regions of Southeast Asia, Australia and Africa where its slender, creeping stems produce small rounded bunches of flowers. Commonly known as "tiger grass” because large cats like to roll in its leaves to soothe their wounds, centella asiatica leaf is also used to comfort and revitalize the skin. The extract from its leaves and flowers are valued in skincare for their high content of unsaponifiables, believed to have anti-aging properties.
