Bambusa arundinacea, a variety of bamboo found throughout India, is a fast-growing type of reed with a tall, hollow stem. The substance that forms in drops on the nodes of the stems are known as “bamboo tears” or “tabashir." It is very rich in silica and used in cosmetics for its visible firming and toning benefits.
Skincare benefits of Bamboo powder
In skincare, the fine powder produced from bamboo tears is used to mattify the skin; the larger particles, to gently exfoliate. In makeup, bamboo powder is used to create long-wearing formulas.
