The power of plants

The quince is a small tree originating from the Caucasus which can now be found all around the Mediterranean basin. In Antiquity, its golden, velvety-skinned fruit – the quince – was offered to newlyweds as a token of love and fertility. The hard, bitter flesh when cooked becomes sweet and delicious and is eaten in the form of jellies or jellied fruits. Quince leaves are used by the people of the steppe to treat coughs and cardiovascular and skin diseases.

Skincare benefits of Quince leaft extract

Quince leaf extract targets the mediators of inflammation, helping to soothe the skin. It also helps to break down white adipose tissue, improving the breakdown of fat and helping to refine the silhouette.

Responsible sourcing

Protecting soil and biodiversity is a long-standing commitment at Clarins. Our quince grows in Portugal. Its leaves are collected following good practices for the harvesting of wild plants. This harvesting process provides farmers with an additional source of income and helps optimize resources.
