The power of plants

Its popular name of “Venus’ Basin” quite clearly illustrates the beneficial role of the teasel plant. The rainwater and dew that collects in the hollow of its curved leaves is a source of drinking water for birds and in times gone by, women would collect this “heavenly water” before sunrise as it was believed it could fade freckles and enhance their beauty. In traditional medicine, its root was used to treat skin diseases and is still used today for its digestive properties.

Skincare benefits of Teasel extract ( organic plant )

In cosmetics, teasel extract (organic plant) is an antioxidant and helps to energize skin. It also helps to revitalize skin cells and protects them from the harmful effects of stress.

The teasel we use is grown in France in accordance with organic farming principles, meaning without chemical inputs or pesticide. Our partner is working with farmers to build the organic and sustainable development models of the future. This cooperative specializes in the cultivation of organic medicinal plants and makes substantial contributions to biodiversity protection initiatives (nesting boxes, hives, hedge planting, etc.). The sustainable partnership with producers makes it a Clarins exemplary supply channel.
