Huang qi is a tree from the tropical forests of Southeast Asia with a deeply furrowed black trunk which can reach 35 m in height. In traditional Chinese medicine, its roots are used to help treat tuberculosis and its leaves with antimicrobial and protective properties help treat fever, pain and skin conditions.
