The desert date is a tree from the dry regions of Africa and Asia, not to be confused with the date palm which produces dates. It is an extremely robust tree with a powerful root system which can reach deep underground water reserves, enabling it to withstand long periods of drought. This capacity has fascinated local communities who consider the tree sacred. The desert date is an important part of local daily life thanks to its many uses. It provides food for people and livestock, offers medicinal benefits and is also used in building and as fuel.

The use of co-products is part of an eco-friendly and sustainable approach, aiming to collect by-products from other industries to maximize the use of natural resources. The oilcake from the seeds of the fruit, which has many cosmetic properties, is therefore recovered to manufacture our extract.
